Athlete of the Week & Month

När jag kom tillbaka till USA fick jag reda på att jag fått några fina utmärkelser under min frånvaro.



Student-Athletes of the Month 

TEMPE - The recipients of Student-Athlete of the Month honors have been announced by the Office of Student-Athlete Development for November with two men and two women earning recognition following the third month of the fall semester. The academic coaches within OSAD selected these four individuals based upon their achievements in academics and their community all while training and competing for their respective Sun Devil teams.

Rebecca Ejdervik - Swimming


Ejdervik, a junior from Vallentuna, Sweden, is a fierce competitor in and out of the pool and maintains a 3.62 GPA as a Global Studies Major. Just recently, Ejdervik found an internship at the Swedish Consulate here in Phoenix where she will learn valuable skills that she can apply toward her future career. Ejdervik has set a positive example for her teammates by being productive in the classroom as well as in the pool. This month, she set an ASU record in the 100 meter breaststroke and is on a relay team that currently has the top time in the nation. Her athletic and academic determination and accomplishments are what makes her a great Sun Devil



Swimmer Rebecca Ejdervik Named Athlete of the Week


Record breaking Invitational earns Junior Rebecca Ejdervik recognition by ASU Athletics.

TEMPE, Ariz.--
Junior Rebecca Ejdervik set an Arena Invitational meet record earning her Arizona State athlete of the week ending Nov. 24. Ejdervik dominated the competition when she broke the 100-yard breaststroke meet record of 1:00.04, which had been standing for seven years. Her impressive time was fractions of a second off the NCAA A-Cut time.

Additionally, Ejdervik, junior Kelli Kyle, sophomore Caroline Kuczynski and senior Katie Haron set the Arena Invitational meet record of 1.38.93 which beat a Stanford relay team that was composed of swimmers who had set the previous mark.

Overall, Ejdervik and the ASU women’s swim team finished in third place in a competitive 20-team field featuring Stanford, California, UCLA, San Diego State.
